Biologist | Museum Collections | Science Communication

I document, restore, and interpret biological specimens while exploring how science can be shared beyond the lab.

Hello, I’m Holly.

Born and raised in the Sunshine State, I’ve always loved spotting gators along highways and the muffled hush of swampy nature reserves. I’m deeply fascinated by the “how” of things and have a lasting love for literature.

I’m a biologist interested in the stories we can uncover through both living systems and preserved ones. I recently graduated from Old Dominion University, where I worked in a biological collection restoring specimens, reconciling legacy records, and improving accessibility for future students.

My experience ranges from fieldwork in the Great Dismal Swamp to hands-on museum work, where I’ve identified specimens, reassociated mismatched bones, and refined how collections are documented and shared. I’m drawn to the details—the small differences in structure, wear, or context that can completely shift how we understand a specimen.

I’m especially interested in ecology, conservation, and museum work, and in finding ways to make science tangible and engaging for people encountering it for the first time—whether in the field, in a collection, or across a table at a community event.
